ISF Filing Deadlines

Are your goods ISF compliant? If you don’t know what ISF means, then they’re probably not. The CBP (Customs and Border Protection) officially implemented what is sometimes referred to as the 10+2 rule in January of 2009, although (luckily for our clients) they began enforcement of the law on a tiered schedule. But here’s the bad news: the CBP began enforcement of ISF for all U.S. importers in July of 2013. This means that if you’ve been letting it slide, you’re already too late. The harsh reality is that the risk for noncompliance is high, and it is very important that importers only work with a trusted partner when filing the appropriate forms.
